Vogon Poetry
Connor Mathewson
The
story starts off with Arthur dent,
A
crusty man who is quite old and bent,
He
blocks the dozers, to save the earth,
While
really he was just saving his hearth,
He
escapes with the Vogons, giant and cruel
And
is tortured by poems just like a fool.
He
is launched into space and saved by a ship,
But
seems to be stolen aboard that ship,
He
flies to A planet filthy and hurtful,
Containing
beings just as frightful,
Earth
is a computer always computing,
The
answer 42 is ever disputing,
The
Mice then come, looking for knowledge,
They
find Arthur’s head ever so helpful,
And
try to take it, for the addition to their handful,
The
group eats Lunch at a lovely place,
Known
as the Restaurant at the end of all places,
This
book is a good one it has lots of fun,
And
even will sometimes throw in a pun,
It
has lots of humor and creatures alike.
But
beware of a scare for this book will give you a fright
Review
This book was one of the better pieces of literature I have read. Anyone who has a crave for science fiction writing should definitely give this book a read. I found it to be in a weird way sarcastic but yet serious and very intellectual. I can be silly at times as well for example in the book the protagonist gets captured by a group called the Vogons and as punishment or torture, they must listen to Vogon Poetry. It these little silly and stupid things that make this book memorable, just the fact that in the midst of all this chaos in the book the writer can include fun things like that. Do not be fooled this book will definitely interest you, it covers topics beyond your imagination like the answer to the universe. The answer itself is in a weird way funny as well its just 42... Its so abrupt and ordinary that it has some what of a comical side to it. If your a reader who enjoys action and chaos along side of a good bit of fun and joking around in a subtle way, then Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy is a must read for you.
You need a bit more than a summary. Your poem summarizes the plot, so does your summary. So, keep the poem and add an analysis/recommendation of the book
